In order to celebrate World Book day on Thursday 3rd March this year, we are encouraging pupils and staff to come to school dressed as a character from a book that they like.

This will be a ‘just for fun’ event, rather than a fund raiser.

Pupils will also be selecting extracts from a book they have enjoyed to share with fellow pupils, and ALL pupils will receive a World Book Day Book token.

We had a sprinkling of snow this morning and MASSES of ice! Its now very sunny, and the village looks glorious!

As with previous cold spells, it is never possible to predict what the conditions here will be like in comparison with conditions at either end of Shropshire or Powys!

With this in mind, we plan to remain open at The Lifehouse unless conditions are severe around school.

HOWEVER, we always respect and understand a driver’s / parent’s / carer’s decision for a pupil NOT to come into school for health and safety reasons or if the uncertainty of the road conditions through the day is a cause for concern.

If we have to close school for any reason, we will post on here and text parents where possible BY 7.45am and update the school website (although this is not always possible to do as immediately). Please bear in mind that this is always a very hard decision due to the unpredicatability of the weather and the difference in weather across the travel routes, and a decision made early in the morning can sometimes seem the wrong decision by the end of the day!

We will strive to get it right, keep lines of communication open, and cause as little inconvenience as possible!
